A New Journey in Black and White: Exploring Value Through Digital Art

After years of blessings and growth working on a variety of animations, comics, and graphic novels, I’ve decided to take a step back and dedicate time to something new—creating a series of black-and-white value studies using digital painting applications. This approach allows me to experiment and express myself in exciting new ways, utilizing advanced tools that have come a long way in replicating oils, acrylics, and watercolors. These digital platforms have opened up new possibilities in my creative process, enabling me to explore art in ways I never thought possible.

While I’ve always enjoyed the conventional methods of painting, I’m also looking forward to introducing new oils and acrylics into my work. However, these pieces will take a bit more time to create. In the meantime, I’m fully enjoying this new phase of my artistic journey, where I can dive into the joy of painting without the pressure of immediate deadlines. It’s been refreshing to immerse myself back into the process of creating, rediscovering new ways of expressing myself, and simply letting my mind wander in the studio.

Throughout my career, I’ve made it my mission to produce images that resonate with people all over the world, work that the entire family can enjoy. As I continue to evolve, I am shifting my focus. For now, my work centers on studying value—not color—allowing me to explore depth, light, and contrast in ways that feel freeing. Color will come later, but for now, the focus is purely on the play of light and shadow.
